Make it Our Business
Workplace Domestic Violence Program
Make It Our Business (MIOB) provides information and education to help employers and other workplace stakeholders meet their obligations under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act. Employers must prevent and respond to domestic violence in the workplace.
MIOB has developed resources to engage employers and other workplace stakeholders to prevent workplace domestic violence, to support employees at risk of or currently experiencing domestic violence, and to improve workplace health and safety. The goal is to equip individuals and organizations to recognize abusive relationships, respond to domestic violence, and refer victims and those who use violence to community supports.
We are taking a leadership role to become a Community Champion of Make it our Business. We have set a goal as a coordinating committee to engage all LCCEWA workplaces to become champions with all staff trained on how to respond to domestic violence in the workplace. We hope to inspire organizations to go beyond simple compliance but instead to show strong leadership in creating safe workplaces.
