2020 Award winners

Given in honour of the late London Police Service Inspector John Robinson, a founding member of the LCCEWA who worked tenaciously to end violence against women including leading a national directive for mandatory charging.

Laura Comiskey

Laura’s made amazing contributions in the eradication of violence against women in her role of Training Coordinator with Across Languages to develop, implement and evaluate groundbreaking DV/SV.HT interpreter core training. She’s built bridges between cultures, broken down language barriers with passion, patience, and empathy.

Constable Amanda Corsaut

A Constable in the IPV Unit at London Police Service, Amanda provides caring support to victims of violence and has been an invaluable resource to officers. She’s an exceptional leader demonstrating caring, patience, and tenacity.

Barb MacQuarrie

Barb is an incredible leader, known internationally, who has worked tirelessly to recognize violence and harassment in the workplace. The Community Director at CREVAWC, she’s also fostered training, public education, evidenced-based education & prevention initiatives in risk assessment and management, sexual violence on and off campus.

Reta Van Every

A survivor of residential schools, Reta has made an immeasurable difference in the lives of vulnerable women at My Sister’s Place. A trusted advocate & skilled collaborator, she is a revered elder in the Indigenous community, offering strength & compassion in both her professional and personal life.

Caroline Pugh-Roberts

A woman of lived experience of sexual exploitation & trafficking, she shares her hope and strength on the Phoenix Anti-Trafficking Project with Salvation Army & LAWC. A trainer and innovator, she’s empowered survivors to recover, and find safety and is recognized internationally as an expert leader.
