Here are some of the recent projects and accomplishments of the London Coordinating Committee to End Woman Abuse.

  • In partnership with the City of London, and building on the workplace training material - Respect at Work (RAW) – developed by the Centre for Research and Education to End Violence Against Women & Children, the LCCEWA provided important leadership to the implementation of RAW within the City of London workplace, creating three training modules for a program called Standing Together: Employees Caring for Employees – Responding to Woman Abuse, Family Violence and Sexual Violence. The training is also being provided in each of our member agencies and other organizations throughout the city.
  • Were primary partners in the Mayor’s Task Force to End Woman Abuse and the I Step Forward Campaign.
  • Instigated primary research on father’s rights groups.
  • Established a Neighbours, Friends and Families Advisory Committee to sustain and grow the campaign within the community.
  • Formally adopted the Domestic Violence Action Plan – Intersectional Feminist Framework – and created a service mapping tool and survey to gather information about existing services.
  • Are involved in an ongoing manner with Regional Coordinating Committees to end violence against women, premier Dalton McGuinty, provincial politicians, and local media to advocate for stronger support on issues surrounding violence against women.
